The Institut für Theatertherapie (ITT) is the institute for training, professional development and research in dramatherapy of the German Association of Dramatherapy.

Since 2015 the Nürtingen-Geislingen University (NGU) offers the first of its kind academic program in dramatherapy in the German-speaking area.

The international Research Institute of Theatre Therapy (R-ITT) was founded in April 2021 to fill a significant gap in the research landscape of artistic therapies. As an integral part of the Institute of Theatre Therapy, the R-ITT Research Institute aims to inspire practicing theater therapists as well as colleagues from psychology, anthropology, sociology, medicine and social work fields interested in research for theater therapy research, to encourage them to conduct their own research and to provide advice on intended research projects. The Wissenschaftlichen Fachgesellschaft für Künstlerische Therapien (WFKT) annually publishes the peer-reviewed, open-access Journal of the Arts Therapies.

Contributions to the Journal are from all fields of the Creative Arts Therapies, including dramatherapy and are free for all to use. More Information as well as access to the Journal can be found here.
